Founder and President of Trifecta Construction Solutions, Dr. Jennifer Languell is a nationally recognized leader in green building and sustainable development. As the owner of Trifecta she focuses on educating and implementing green building and sustainable development certifications and practices. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, a Master’s in Civil Engineering and Construction Management, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction.
For over a decade, Dr. Languell has been one of the country’s preeminent consultants in the creation of healthy, efficient and sustainable projects ranging from single-family residential homes, commercial and multi-family residential construction, to some of the largest and most sustainable land developments in the world. Eric Corey Freed, LEED AP, Hon. FIGP, is Principal of organicARCHITECT, an architecture and consulting firm in California, with nearly 20 years of experience in green building.
Eric co-developed the Sustainable Design programs at the Academy of Art University and University of California Berkeley Extension. He is on the boards of Architects, Designers & Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR), Green Home Guide and West Coast Green, as well as the advisory boards of nearly a dozen other organizations.
He was the founding Chair of Architecture for The San Francisco Design Museum and one of the founders of ecoTECTURE: The Online Journal of Ecological Design. He is a regular contributor for GreenerBuildings.com, Luxe, Natural Home, Metropolitan Home and dozens of other publications. Eric lectures around the country at 40+ conferences a year, and his work has been featured in Dwell, Metropolis, Town & Country, Natural Home and Newsweek. In his role at Ideal Homes, McKown oversees sales, marketing, land development, and mortgage operations for the company. This year Ideal Homes and its 75 employees are celebrating 20 years of business. Since 1990, the company has built over 7,000 homes for Oklahoma families and has received virtually every industry award for quality and customer service – including 2010 National Builder of the Year from Professional Builder magazine.
McKown is also a respected local and national presenter on the subject of green building. Over the past 12 months he presented his “Building Better Homes” presentation to local and national audiences.
McKown serves on numerous local boards. He severed on the American Lung Association’s advisory committee and as past president on the national board for the Energy and Environmental Building Association. He is the current president of the Norman Youth Soccer Association, past president of the Cleveland County YMCA.

Jerry Yudelson, PE, MS, MBA, LEED AP, is the Principal of Yudelson Associates in Tucson, Arizona.
A licensed professional engineer, Jerry Yudelson is a former board member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and chaired the USGBC’s annual Greenbuild conference from 2004 through 2009. He was the Research Scholar for Sustainability for the International Council of Shopping Centers, providing research and speaking services for ICSC. From 2001 to 2008, he trained more than 3500 people in the USGBC’s LEED green building rating system.

Sam Rashkin, R.A., is the National Director of ENERGY STAR for Homes.
Mr. Rashkin has managed ENERGY STAR for Homes since its start in 1996. Under his leadership, ENERGY STAR for Homes has grown exponentially to more than 8,500 builder partners and over one million labeled homes. He is also overseeing an advanced technology program for elite builders called ENERGY STAR Concept Home. Mr. Rashkin received his Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University; completed Masters of Urban Planning studies at New York University; and is a registered architect in California and New York.
During his 20-plus years as a licensed architect, Sam specialized in energy efficient design and completed over 100 residential projects. He has served on the national Steering Committees for USGBC’s LEED for Homes, NAHB’s Green Builder Guidelines, and EPA’s Water Sense label, and has been on the development team for EPA’s Indoor airPLUS label. Director of Green Building Programs at the NAHB Research Center, Michelle leads the national green building certification program based on the ANSI-approved National Green Building Standard™ (ICC 700-2008). Possessing a broad knowledge of the housing industry, Michelle has developed a unique perspective that addresses the environmental, land use, and financing issues that confront builders and developers. As a Planner for the New York City Department of City Planning, she facilitated a multi-year, citywide effort to site and build transitional housing for homeless families and individuals. As a Policy Analyst at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) she developed comprehensive and innovative policy solutions to achieve environmental goals while protecting housing affordability.
Interested in how to capture the intrinsic value of high performance homes to boost homeownership; Michelle transitioned to Fannie Mae to develop their Housing and Environment Initiative which promoted housing affordability through energy and location efficient homes. At Fannie Mae, Michelle developed the Smart Commute Mortgage and revamped the Location Efficient and Energy Efficient Mortgages. In addition, she developed a patent-winning methodology to calculate the emissions reductions from energy efficient homes so the reductions could be sold as energy credits on emerging carbon markets.
Michelle has a Masters in Urban Planning and Environmental Studies from the University of Virginia and a BS in Environmental Studies from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
Kathy Abusow is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, Inc. (SFI®), a fully independent, non-profit organization. The SFI® program is a comprehensive and rigorous sustainable forestry certification standard that covers more than 160 million certified acres (over 65 million ha.) in the U.S. and Canada and includes over 800 organizations that use the SFI forest certification, chain of custody and fiber sourcing standard or are SFI on-product label users.
In her leadership role at SFI, Kathy works with government organizations, small or large companies as well as conservation groups to promote forest certification along the entire supply chain.
Kathy has served on several CSA committees, as well as the American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) ASQ National Accreditation Board Committee of Experts for Sustainable Forestry accreditation, and is past chair of the Society of American Foresters’ Sustainability and Certification Working Group.
Kathy’s understanding of forest certification standards, chain of custody, conformity assessment and accreditation on both a technical and strategic level has contributed to the market acceptance and inclusive procurement of a variety of standards in use in North America. Kathy is active member of the CSA Sustainable Forest Management Technical Committee and a past member of FSC Canada’s Great Lakes St.-Lawrence standards development committee.

Dominic Sims is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the International Code Council, a membership organization dedicated to developing and maintaining a single set of comprehensive and coordinated model codes for the built environment.
