FBI Seizes Millions in Crypto

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has seized $1.7 million in cryptocurrencies from users suspected of violating various federal regulations over the course of three months. Notable cryptocurrencies seized and recorded include Bitcoin, Ether, Dai, Monero and Tether, as well as fiat currency (U.S. dollar) from bank accounts, weapons and luxury cars connected to illegal activities in the crypto space.

Noteworthy Cryptos Seized

The FBI listed 428.5 Ethereum taken from four wallets in the Eastern District of Virginia with an approximate value of $800,00 at the time of confiscation; 5.12 Bitcoins valued at $136,893; and $310,277 worth of Tether was forfeited by criminal suspects during this period too .

Beware Crypto-related Scams

The law enforcement agency recently issued a public statement warning internet users against criminals posing as NFT developers who promote ‘limited supply’ NFTs on social media with phrases like ‘surprise’ or previously unannounced mints.. It also warned about fake crypto job offerings that can lead unsuspecting victims into committing investment frauds resulting in them losing their money .
